Culture and History
SL Industries, Inc., through its subsidiaries, designs, manufactures and markets power electronics, power motion and power protection equipment that is used in a variety of aerospace, computer, datacom, industrial, medical, telecom, transportation and utility equipment applications. SL’s products are largely sold to Original Equipment Manufacturers, and to a lesser extent, to commercial distributors. Our systems are used with a broad range of equipment to increase operating safety, reliability and efficiency. One of our key competitive advantages is our ability to partner with customers and custom engineer innovative solutions.

Background
On March 29, 1956, the Company was incorporated as G-L Electronics Company in the state of New Jersey. Its name was changed to G-L Industries, Inc. in November 1963; SGL Industries, Inc. in November 1970; and then to the present name of SL Industries, Inc. in September 1984. Through its five main operating units, the SL Power Electronics Corporation, SL Montevideo Technology, Inc., RFL Electronics, Inc., MTE Corporation, and Teal Electronics Corporation, SL has maintained its position as a leader in the power electronics and power protection industries.
